Marchosias Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

First of all I would like to say "Hello!" to you and all your readers and to thank you for your interest in Marchosias.

I have to say we are pretty busy lately. We launched 2 split CD's, we are working on the design for two t-shirts and we have to prepare for our anniversary concert. We had to rescheduled because of the tragic recent events for the metal scena in Romania, the Colectiv fire. We would like to send our regrets and prayers to our brothers and sisters that are no longer with us and to the ones that are still fighting for their lives in hospital beds and to their families.

We are also working writing new music and lyrics for our upcoming full length that we wish to launch at the end of 2016.

2.Recently you where a part of a split, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on your side of the recording?

Yes we were. Actually we recorded 6 songs for two split CD-s. Metal United 2015, the 10th anniversay of polish metalcore band Lostbone (Lostbone / Marchosias / Decease / Implant Pentru Refuz / Targ3t) and (inter)SECTION a split cd with fellow black metal band Akral Necrosis. The music presented on our side of the (inter)SECTION split is what Marchosias feels like these days. powerfull riffs combined with melodic intersections, strong lyrics and a deep message! It represents the maturity the band has reached after a period of 5 years of existence and development.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music?

The lyrical topics we try to reach is dark spirituality, luciferianism and self awareness through religious concepts. We try to rise a question mark above what religion is serving to the masses and to open the eyes of the masses and to help them see that not everything is what it seems and that we should use our brains more often. Blind following and worship is not ok in the times we live!

4.I know that the name 'Marchosias' comes from a Goetic demon, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in the Left Hand Path philosophies and the Occult?

Yes the name comes from a demon, commander of 30 demonic legions, but it also means "marquis" in greek. I can only speek about my interest in the left hand path and the occult here as faith is a very personal thing. I am very interested in placing the HUMAN in the center of it`s exitence as we are all responsible for our decisions and our actions. That is all I have to say about this topic.

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

We had some very good shows laetly, lot`s of people, ver good and strong reactions from the crows. Our live performances I would describe as strong and balanced. we try to provide an energic show for our fans and make them feel our energy on stage. We try to geve everything at every show!

6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

We would like to support (inter)SECTION with a couple of live performances in different citiesin Romania and hopefully abroad.

7.Recently you shared a split with Akral Necrosis and also covered one of their songs, can you tell us a little bit more about your cover version?

We tried to add a touch of us to the cover...add some melodic parts to the songs wich is a great song. I think we managed to add our personal touch to the cover. We hope that both our fans and Akral Necrosis fans will apreciate our effort.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?

I can`t really say what the feedback is on a worldwide level. We haven`t reached so many ears and sould. Nut in romania we received positive reviews and feedbacks at shows and from the press. Hopefully we would reach some black metal fans with the hellp of your site :).

9.Are any of the band members also involved with any other bands or musical projects these days?

The only Marchosias band that is involved in a side project is our main guitarist Edward, he plays bass for Necrovile. The other members don`t have the spare time , we have jobs and families and Marchosias takes all our free time.

10.When can we expect a full length album and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

At the end of 2016. The full lenght willl have everything from black metal to death metal, sreams growls and clean vocals, it`s gonna be a big surprise! We hope it will have a great inpact on our fanbase.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Some of the bands we enjoy: Marduk, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Dissection, Anathema, Sear Bliss, Watain, Nile, Faceless, Lake of tears etc. I personally enjoy the latest Gorgoroth album Instinctus Bestialis.

Akral Necrosis & Marchosias - (inter)Section

Akral Necrosis/Marchosias/(Inter)Section/Loud Rage Music/2015 Split CD Review

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  Romania's  Akral  Necrosis  and  Marchosias  called  (Inter)Section"  which  was  released  by  Loud  Rage  Music  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Akral  Necrosis  a band  that  plays  a  very  heavy  and  modern  style  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  black  metal  sound  that  is  in  the  more  modern  style  of  the  genre  along  with  some  distorted  melodies  and  the  vocals  are  high  pitched  screams  that  also  use  a  touch  of  death  metal  growls  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

   When  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  very  dark  and  melodic  sounding  and  they  also  bring  in  a  live  track  that also  uses  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  their  side  of  the  recording  along  with  one  of  the  tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  they  close  their  side  of  the  split  with  a  cover  of   Marchosias's  "The  Sacred  book".

  Akral  Necrosis  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  genre  while  still  being  very  true  to  the  tradition  of  the  genre,  the  production  sounds  very powerful  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness,  Satanism  and  Occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Akral  Necrosis  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  heavy  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Separator".       

  Next  up  is  Marchosias  a  band  that  plays  an  experimental  form  of  occult  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split starts  out  with  a  very  heavy  death  metal  influenced  guitar  riff  along  with  a  blast  beats  being  utilized  during  the  faster  sections  of  the  music  and  after  awhile  high  pitched  black  metal.  screams  and  melodies  are  added  into  the  songs  along  with  some  growls  being  utilized  at  times  and  the  songs  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  present  on  their  side  of  the  recording  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  when  guitar  leads  are  utilized  they  bring  in  more  of  a  melodic  style  of  black  metal  and  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  at  times  while  also  always  keeping  everything  in a  heavy  direction and  they  close  their side  of  the  split  with  a  cover  of  Akral  Necrosis's  "Slay  the  Whore".

  Marchosias  plays  a  style  of  black  metal t hat  is  very  heavy  and  melodic  and  they  mix  it  in  with  elements  of  experimental  and  death  metal  to  create  a  style  of  their  own,  the  production  on  their  side  of  the  split  sounds  very  powerful  while  the  lyrics  cover  Luciferianism,  Dark  Spirituality,  and  Self  Awareness  through  Religious  Concepts.

  In  my  opinion  Marchosias  are  a  very  great  sounding  experimental  mixture  of  occult  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "False  Prophet".

  In  my  opinion  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  modern  black  metal.  8  out  of  10.
