Warmoon Lord/Sancrosanct Demonopathy/Werewolf Records/2025 Full Length Review

 

  Finland's  Warmoon  Lord  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  an  old  school  and  medieval  style  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Sancrosanct  Demonopathy"  which  will  be  released  in  May  by  Werewolf  Records.

  Acoustic  guitars  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  melodic  guitar  solos  and  leads  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  takes  the  music  into  a  heavier  direction.  Synths  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in a   great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a great  amount  of  melody. Most  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  mid  90's  era  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  growls  can  also  ne  heard  at  times.

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length,  spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  on  a  few  songs  as  well  as  the  music  also  capturing  a  very  medieval  atmosphere  and  the  recording  closes  with  an  instrumental.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Magick  and  Darkness  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Warmoon  Lord  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  and  medieval  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Invoking  The  Retribution  Eidolon"  "Uncreation's  Dragon"  and  "Daemonic  Supremacy  Enthroned".  8  out  of  10.

Warmoon Lord/Vultryium/Pure Cold Impurity/Werewolf Records/2023 Split Album Re-Issue Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  Finland's  Warmoon  Lord  and  Vultryium  called  "Pure  Cold  Impurity"  which  was  originally  released  in  2020  and  was  re-issued  in  2023  by  Werewolf  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Warmoon  Lord  who  returns  with  his  old  school  and  medieval  style  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  while  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  The  synths  also  give  the  songs  more  of  an  atmospheric  and  medieval  touch  while t he  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  the  music  is  heavily  rooted  in t he  90's  era.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  The  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style,  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well a s  one  song  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while the lyrics  cover  Magick,  Darkness  and  Fantasy  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Warmoon  Lord  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  and  medieval  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Ancient  Death's  Crown"  and  "The  Morning  Star's  Descent".

  Next  up  is  Vultryium  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  old  school  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  melody   while  the  music  is  heavily  rooted  in  the  mid  90's  era.

  Melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  as  well  as  the  songs  only  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  slow  and  mid  tempo  sections,  atmospheric  sounding  synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness,  coldness,  solitude  and  desolation  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Vultryium  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  old  school  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Journey  Through  Razorwinds".

  In  conclusion  i  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  Finnish  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  8  out  of  10.

Warmoon Lord/Burning Banners Of The Funereal War/Werewolf Records/2023 Album Re-Issue Review

 

  Warmoon  Lord  are  a  solo  project  from  Finland  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  a  very  old  school  and  medieval  from  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2019  album  "Burning  Banners  of  The  Funereal  War"  which  was  re-issued  in  2023  by  Werewolf  Records.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  aldol  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to them.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  briefly.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast   beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  most  of  the  tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  the  music  also  being  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era,  synths  can  also  be  heard  in  the  background  at  times  and  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  medieval  and  atmospheric  touch  and  clean  playing  is  added  on  the  closing  track.  

  On  this  recording  Warmon  Lord  played  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  old  school  and  medieval  sounding  in t he  90's  Finnish  tradition.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Fantasy  and  War  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Warmoon  Lord  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  and  medieval  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  re-issue.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Obsessing  Darkness"  and  "Blazing  Warrior  Soul".  8  out  of  10.

  Warmoon  Lord  are  a  solo  project  from  Finland  that  plays  a  very  old  school  and  medieval  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2021  album  "Battlespells"  which  will  be  released  in  June  by  Werewolf  Records.

  A  very  dark,  heavy,  melodic  and  epic  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody  along  with  some  songs  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  medieval  style  battles.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  some  keyboards  also  being  mixed  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  tracks.

  A  ,lot  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  second  wave  tradition  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  some  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length,  some  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  one  song  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  acoustic  guitars.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  War,  Fantasy  and  Medieval  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Warmoon  Lord  are  a  very  great  sounding  old  school  and  medieval  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Purging  Nefarious  Vortex"  "Empowered  With  Battlespells"  and  "In  Perennial  Twilight".  8/5  out  of  10.
