Hellgoat/Death Conquers All/Boris Records/2019 CD Re-Issue Review

  Hellgoat  are  a  band  from  Atlanta,  Georgia  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  raw  and  satanic  form  of  black  metal and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  album  "Death  Conquers  All"  which  will  be re-issued  in  May  by  Boris  Records.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  also  has  a  great  amount  of  influences  from  the  90's  second  wave  style  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Dark  sounding  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  some  of  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  almost  capture  the  raw  aggression  of  war  metal  but  staying  mostly  rooted  in  a  traditional  black  metal  style.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  songs  always  stick  to  a  very  heavy  and  raw  musical  direction.

  On  this  recording  Hellgoat  remained  very  true  to  the  raw,  old  school  and  satanic  black  metal  style  that  was  established  on  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Gnostic  Satanism  and  Anti  Christianity  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  was  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Hellgoat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  re-issue.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Slay  The  Lamb"  "Upon  The  Hill  Of  Megiddo"  "Feat  Of  the  Goat"  and  "Ordained  By  The  Masters  Hand".  8  out  of  10.

Hellgoat/Blasphemy From Serpent Tongues/Boris Records/2017 CD Re-Issue Review

  Hellgoat  are  a  band  from  Georgia that h as  had  music  reviewed  by  this  zine  and  plays  a  very raw  form  of  satanic  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2005  album  "Blasphemy From  Serpent  Tongues"  which  will  be  released  in  August  by  Boris  Records.

  Ritualistic  sounding  keyboards  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  grim  vocals  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  leads  to  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  as  well  as  introducing  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  onto  the  recording.

  A  great  amount  of  war  metal  elements  can  be  heard  in  the  bands  musical  style  along  with  a  small  amount  of  bestial  growls  and  dark  sounding  melodies  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  and  one  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  war  samples  and  spoken  word  parts  are  added  onto  the  closing  track.

  On  this  recording  Hellgoat  played  a  style  of  satanic  black  metal  that  was  very  raw  and also  mixed  in  elements  of  bestial  and  war  metal  to  create  a  very  blasphemous  sounding  album,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism  and  Anti  Christianity  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  was  a  very  great  sounding  recording  from  Hellgoat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  re-issue.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Blasphemy  From  Serpent  Tongues"  "Reflection  Of  The  Morning  Star"  and  "Apocalyptic  Prophecy".  8/5  out  of  10.

Hellgoat/Eden In Flames/Boris Records/Pale Horse Records/2016 7 Inch Review

  Hellgoat  are  a  band  from  Atlanta, Georgia  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  raw  and  satanic  form of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  ep  "Eden  In  Flames"  which will  be  released  in  September  as  a  joint  effort  between  Boris  and  Pale  Horse  Records.

  Burning  fire  sounds  start  off  the ep  along  with  some  goat  noises  in  the  background  while  the  soundscapes  are  very  atmospheric  and  once  the  demonic  growl  kicks  in  the  music  goes  into  a  very  fast  raw  black  metal  direction  that  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  pickings  and  blast  beats  along  with  a  touch  of  war  metal.

  Most  of  the  vocals  are  grim  yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  songs  also  bring  in a   great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  songs  also b ring  in  a  great  amount  of  90's  wave  black  metal  influences  and  you  can  also  hear  a  small  amount  of  melody  being used  briefly.

  Hellgoat  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  the  raw  and  satanic  black  metal  style  of  previous  recordings  while  also  mixing  in  some  war  metal  elements,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism  and  Anti  Christian  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Hellgoat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out t his  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Inner  Sanctum Ablaze".  8  out  of  10.

Hellgoat/End Of Man/Boris Records/2014 7 Inch Review

  Hellgoat  are  a  band  from  Atlanta,  Georgia  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  satanic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2014  7  Inch  "End  Of  Man"  which  will  be  released  by  Boris  Records.

  Dark  sound  effects  start  off  the  ep  and  they  bring  a  ritualistic  feeling  to  the  recording  along  with  some  melodic  chants  which  lead  up  to  demonic  growls  and  chaos  and  then  the  band  brings  in  a  more  heavy  black/death  metal  sound  along  with  some  grim  screams  and  then  the  music  starts  getting  very  fast  and  raw  along  with  some  brutal  blast  beats  before  bringing  in  a  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  with  the  slower  parts  having  a  doom  metal  feeling  to  them  and  the  first  track  closes  with  spoken  word  ritualistic  parts.

  On  the  second  track  the  band  continue  with  the  ritualistic  parts  before  going  into  an  all  out  fast,  raw  and  bestial  black  metal  assault  with  the  music  being  very  brutal  with  some  death  and  war  metal  elements,  and  during  the  last  minute  of  the  song  the  music  gets  more  avant  garde  and  occult  sounding.

  Hellgoat  show  a  great  amount  of  darkness  and  heaviness  with  their  music  and  the  music  is  some  of  the  most  raw,  blasphemous  and  true  black  metal  that  has  been  released  this  year,  the  production  is  very  heavy  and  raw  and  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism  and  Occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Hellgoat  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  satanic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  7  inch.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Demonic  Worship  of  The  Horned  Beast".  8/5  out  of  10.
