Rorcal/Mahre/Humus Records/2026 Full Length Review

  Switzerland's  Rorcal  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  mixture  of  dissonant  black,  sludge,  doom  metal,  industrial  and  drone  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "Mahre"  which  will b e  released  on  September  25th  by  Humus  Records.

  Drones  and  field  recordings  start  off  the  album  before  introducing  elements  of  noise  and  industrial  before  going  into  a  slower  and  heavier  direction  that  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  sludge  and  doom  metal.   Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  at  times  the  riffs  also  get  very  dissonant  sounding.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  blast  beats   and  tremolo  picking  are  added  into  the  faster  sections  of  the  album  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody,  some  tracks  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts. 

  On  this  recording  Rorcal  takes  dissonant  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal  and  mixes  it  with  elements  of  noise,  drone  and  industrial  to  create  a  very  heavy  album.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dreams  and  nightmares.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Rorcal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  dissonant  black,  sludge,  doom  metal,  noise,  industrial  and  drone,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  'Movement  II"  and  "Movement  V".  8  out  of  10.

Non Serviam/La Lune Dont Mon Ame Est Pleine/Lay Bare Recordings/2026 Full Length Review

  France's  Non  Serviam  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  avant  garde  and  experimental  mixture  of  black,  sludge,  doom  metal,  crust,  grindcore,  industrial  and  garkwave  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "La  Lune  Dont  Mon  Ame  Esr  Pleine"  which  will  be  released  in  June  by  Lay  Bare  Recordings.

  A  very  distorted  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  whispers  and  noise  before  adding  in  synths  and  industrial  beats.  Spoken  words  can  also be  heard  on  a  few  tracks  and  the  harsh  vocals  are  mostly high  pitched  black  metal  screams and  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  are  also  heavily  rooted  in  sludge  and  doom  metal.

  Clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  some  of  the  songs  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  Experimental,  darkwave  and  avant  garde  elements  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  some  tracks  also  adding  in  clear  singing.  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking,  crust,  grindcore  elements  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  raw  feeling.  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  each  song  also  sounding  very  different  from  each  other,  when  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  chaotic  style.   The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  are  a  concept  album  based  upon  the  myth  of  Diana  and  Actaeon.    

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Non  Serviam  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  avant  garde  and  experimental  black,  sludge,  doom  metal,  crust,  grindcore,  industrial  and  darkwave,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Deesse  Morte"  "La  Valse  des  Enfants  Morts"  and  "La  Lune  Dont  Mon  Ame  Esr  Pleine  - Part  III'.  8  out  of  10.

  France's  Deliverance  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  psychedelic  mixture  of  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "The  Voyager  Golden  Banquet"  which  will  be  released  in  May  bt  les  Acteurs  de  L'Ombre  Productions.

  Psychedelic  sounding  synths  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.  Clean  playing  is  also  utilized  at  times  while  the  slower  parts  of  the  recording  also  add  in  elements  of  sludge  and  doom  metal  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Vocals  are  done  in  mostly  an  angry  black  metal  style  mixed  in  with  a  touch  of  hardcore  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  album  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  songs  also  adding  in  touches  of  progressive,  post  and  indie  rock..

 

   Electronic  sounds  are  also  utilized  at  times  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also being very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  a  couple  of songs  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  clear  singing  and  the  closing  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  spoken  words.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  scientific  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Deliverance  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  psychedelic  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Chasing  The  Dragon"  "As  Above,  So  Below"  and  "The  Banquet  Part  1".  8  out  of  10.

    The  Fifth  Alliance  are  a  band  from  the  Netherlands  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  a  mixture  of  post  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "Stenahoria"  which  will  be  released  in  May  as  a  joint  effort  between  Tartarus  Records.  Breathe  and  Ardua  Music.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  Vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody   and  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  elements  of  sludge  and  doom  metal.

  On  this  recording  The  Fifth  Alliance  takes  an  atmospheric  form  of  post  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  sludge  and  doom  metal  to  create  a  very  heavy  and  dark  release.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  human  experiences  of  fear,  sorrow  and  confinement.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  The  Fifth  Alliance  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  post  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Phoenix"  and  "Jacob".  8  out  of  10.

  Clean  playing  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast b eats  can  be  heard  along  with  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  elements  of  doom  and  sludge  metal.   

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with   the  album  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast parts.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  also  bring  in  more  of  an  old  school  extreme  metal  style.  The  album  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  some  death  metal  growls  also  being  used  at  times,  when  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  faster  riffing  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  spoken  words  are  also  introduced  on  a  later  track  and  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  oppressive  themes.  .

Zeit/R.U.M.S/2025 EP Review

 

  Gerrmany's  Zeit  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  mixture  of  black,  sludge,  doom  metal  and  techno  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2025  ep  "R.U.M.S".

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  the  electronic  beats  and  techno  elements  also  mix  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs.  Elements  of  doom  and  sludge  metal  are  also  mixed  in  with  the  slower  parts  of  the  recording  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  90's  style  hardcore  techno,  acid  house,  drum'n'bass  and  minimal  electro  touches  are  also  utilized  throughout  the  songs.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  introduced  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style,  spoken  word  samples  are  brought  in  briefly  and  the  closing  track  is  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  On  this  recording  Zeit  takes  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal  and  mixes  it  with  techno  and  other  forms  of  electronic  music  to  create  something  very  different  from  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  cover  Nihilism  themes.  

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Zeit  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black,  sludge,  doom  metal  and  techno,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Wunde"  and  "Immer".  8  out  of  10.

  Italy's  Sedna  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  atmospheric  mixture  of  post  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Sila  Nuna"  which  will  be  released  in  November  by  Dusktone.

  A  very  distorted  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  adding  in  some  clean  playing  and  clear  singing  which  also  returns  on  some  of  the  later  tracks.  Whispers  can  also  be  heard  briefly  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  vocals  also  add  in  a  lot  of  angry  shouts.

  The  slower  sections  of  the  songs  also  bring  in  elements  of  sludge  and  doom  metal while  the  music  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments.  Black  metal  screams  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  lot  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard,  spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  briefly.

  When  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  faster  riffing  they  also  give  the  album  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  post  metal  style  as  well  as  some  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  growls.  The  recording  also  has  its  experimental  moments  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  melody  and  there  is  also  an  interlude  in  between  each  song,  female  vocals  are  also  added  towards  the  end.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Inuit  Mythology.

  Anal  Piss  Cult  are  a  band  from  Italy  that h as  recently  been  featured  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  goes  for  an  improvised  mixture  of  black,  sludge,  doom  metal,  grindcore  and  powerviolence  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2025  album  "And  Left  The  Bones".

  A  slow,  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  also  bringing  in  elements  of  doom  and  sludge  metal.  A  couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  Vocals  also  add  in  some  tortured  cries  before  evolving  into  grim  yet  high  pitched  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  all  of  the  music  is  also  improvised.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  can be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Some  of  the  more  angry  shouts  and  growls  also  add  in  touches  of  powerviolence  along  with  the  album  also  adding  in  the  brutality  of  grindcore  at  times.   Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  some  of  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  and  all  of  the  tracks  stick  to  a  heavier  direction,  spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  briefly.

  On  this  recording  Anal  Piss  Cult  remain  true  to  the  improvised  mixture  of  black,  sludge,  doom metal,  powerviolence  and  grindcore  which  they  established  on  previous  releases.  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  hatred  and  anger  themes.  

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Anal  Piss  Cult  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  improvised  black,  sludge,  doom  metal,  powerviolence  and  grindcore,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Flowers  Of  Rot"  "Hissing  Form  Behind  Blind  Eyes"  and  "Maniacs  In  the  Fourth  Dimension".  8  out  of  10.

Tselech/Oathless One/Elf Eggs/2024 Split EP Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  ep  between  U.S.A's  Tselech  and  United  Kingdom's  Oathless  One  which  was  released  in  2024  by  Elf  Eggs  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Tselech  who  returns  with  a  mixture  of  raw  black  metal  and  noise.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  spoken  word  samples  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  vocals  are  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.  Guitar  noises  are  also  utilized  at  times  along  with  all  of  the  music  being  improvised,  all  of  the  riffing  sticking  to  a  slower  direction  and  the  closing  track  also  adds  in  some  fast  drumming.  The  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  and  the  lyrics  cover  death  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Tselech  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  black  metal  and  noise,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "A  Glamour  Of  Nightfall".

  Next  up  is  Oathless  One  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  mixture  of  raw  black  metal  and  noise.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  dark  yet  distorted  sound  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Throughout  his  side  of  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  ambient  style  synths  also  being  added  into  the  music  at  times.  Guitar  orientated  noises  are  also  utilized  at  times  and  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  also  mix  in  elements  of  sludge  and  doom  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  esoteric  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Oathless  One  is  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  raw  black  metal  and  noise  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Infernal  Manifestation".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw  black  metal  and  noise.  8  out  of  10.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  dark  sound  between  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  elements  of  sludge  and  doom  metal.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  fo  a r aw  feeling.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Mnajdra  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  post  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Drawn  Sword  Of  Islam"  and  "Shine  on  the  Ruins".

  Next  up  is  Saħħar  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  very  dark  style   of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  synths  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  vocals  are  done  in  more  of  growling  style  which  also  adds  in  a  touch  of  death  metal.  and  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  raw  black  metal  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  atmospheric  sounding  as  well  as  some  of  the  vocals  also  adding  in  high  pitched  black  metal  screams,  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  most  of  his  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  Great  Siege  Of  Malta.

  In  my  opinion  Saħħar  is  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black  and  dark  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Nofs  Millenju".

  In  conclusion  I  fell  this  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  the  modern  era  black  metal  styles.  8  out  of  10.

Anal Piss Cult Interview

 

1. For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

A: We are what we want to play, we embrace our nature as ever changing creatures, we try to put all this in our music.

O: This project was born from the ashes of a dying breed. We completed our metamorphosis into what then became Anal Piss Cult. A blend of despair and euphoria. A distant scream approaching, relentless. 

2. So far you have released a couple of albums, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on both of the recordings?

A: Both records are improvised, that's basically our philosophy. The first, My Screams In The Fog Are Eaten By Something Unseen, came out more ambient-influenced than we thought it would, and since we felt we wanted to give in to violence in They Ate The Flesh, we approached the recording with that mindset. What came out reflects this, I think.

O: Everything is improvised so we just play what we feel at the moment. Recording in a studio can sometimes be limiting but it can also open to new sounds and atmospheres, so basically it’s like giving birth to something unknown. Surely the first album is more raw and somewhat primitive, while the second is more structured and richer in sounds, also with the help of Kilgore Trout II

3. So far all of the music has been improvised, what was the decision behind going into this direction?

A: We were tired of trying to get the perfect tune and the perfect melody to convey something that would eventually change, so we embraced what we have been wanting to convey in our lives for a long time, leaving behind useless elucubration.

O: The monotony of rehearsing. And also the absolute free expression that music can give. We just play how we feel in the moment and the connection between us intertwines the senses, creating something constantly unwritten. 

4. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored so far with the music?

A: Hypocrisy, hate, nature, rejection, sorrow, anger, memory

O: There are no real lyrics. Only screams of pain to fill the void of existence. When performing blindfolded my mind just drifts in a slumbering realm. It’s like sleep paralysis.

5. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Anal Piss Cult'?

A: A raptus by O, during rehearsals with our previous band

O: Our music is clearly not for everybody, but who follows and supports us knows the reason why we are called the way we are. 

6. Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

A: We decided with Kilgore Trout II that we could explore the contrast between the our primaeval drive with his vision

O: There’s no meaning behind it. Just a picture of individuals with their face covered. There’s not a lot of thought process behind what we do. Everything has to come as natural as possible. 

7. Currently there are only 2 members in the band, are you open to expanding the line up or do you prefer to remain a duo?

A: I don't think we'll expand the band in the near future

O: we are always open for collaborations but as far as the former band goes, we will always be a duo.

8. On the second album you also collaborated with 'Killgore Trout II', can you tell us a little bit more about his contribution to the recording?

A: He reached out wanting to merge the music he heard while seeing us perform live with what we did, an industrial and noise nihilistic influence resulted from that.

O: So the collaboration with Kilgore Trout II was undoubtedly inspiring and it helped us widen our horizons and expand the awareness of who we were and how we felt as a pack. 

The general mood of the latest recordings has a lot to do with the touch he put in all the tracks that we brought to life. 

9. Has the band done any live shows or open to the idea?

  A: We did some live shows, some we uploaded on our YouTube channel. They were improvised too.

O: We’ve done a few but where we are from it’s not easy to find the right environments. But that’s basically all we would find pleasure in doing. Our music needs to be performed to instill the message in people’s hearts.  

10. Currently the band is unsigned, are you open to expanding the line up or do you prefer to remain a duo?

A: It depends on the label, we are currently boycotting Spotify as it is a slave of the demons of war.

O: it’s something that we never actually considered, but if the terms are right, why not?

11. On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of underground metal?

A: The few people that listened to us outside from the underground of our hometown told us that we are something different. I hope this is a good thing, if it's not, we still enjoy what we do.

O: It’s been great in my opinion. People that saw us performing were confused and amused at the same time. Nevertheless, I’m not looking for approval. I will always find pleasure in what we are doing.

12. What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

A: Many and varying, some names that come to my mind are, in no particular order, Satyricon, Mgła, Heilung, Gojira, The Chariot, Mastodon, Cough, Kylesa, Wardruna, Converge, Orchid. Lately I have been drawn back to Opeth, Kaunan and Darkthrone.

O: Drudkh, Bad Brains, Death Grips, Proclamation, Gaza and Amenra. 

Nowadays I’m listening to a lot of contemporary Post-punk and darkwave.

13. Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

A: You are not worthier than any other living being, don't expect anything more nor anything less

Phosphorus/Frail Grasp Of Broken Hands/Vendetta Records/2025 Full Length Review

 

  Phosphorus  are  a  band  from  Germany  that  plays  a  mixture  of  post  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Frail  Grasp  Of  Broken  Hands"  which  was  released  by  Vendetta  Records.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  black  metal  screams.  Elements  of  sludge  and  doom  metal  are  also  added  into  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  Clean  playing  is  also  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  album  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  post  metal  style  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  one  track  also  introducing  clear  vocals  onto  the  album,  cellos  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  environment,  abuse,  anti  religion  and  society  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Phosphorus  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  post  black,  sludge  and  doom  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Final  Grasp  Of  Broken  Hands"  and  "Silken  Skin".  8 out  of  10.
