Wilds Forlorn/We, The Damned/Obscure Abhorrance Productions/2012 CD Review

  This  is  the  final  review  of  a  recording  from  Wilds  Forlorn  which  continues  their  atmospheric  approach  to  black  metal  with  the  album  being  called  "We,  The  Damned"  and  released  by  Obscure Abhottance  in  the  year  of  2012.

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  synths  bring  a  very  dark,  neo  classical  and atmospheric  sound  to  the  recording  along  with  a  brief  use  of  folk  instruments,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  melodic  black  metal  riffs  that  utilize  some  raw  and  primitive  sounding  elements,  while  the  lead  guitars  which  are  only  used  briefly  on  one  song  are  very  melodic  sounding  black  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

  Vocals a re  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  along  with  a  brief  use  of  deep  growls  and  spoken  word  samples,  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  depressing  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  dark  sound  with  some  of  the  songs  being  long  and  epic  in  length.  

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Wilds  Forlorn  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Traces"  and  "We,  The  Damned".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.

Wilds Forlorn/Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes/2010 Album Review

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Wilds  Forlorn  which  continues  their  atmospheric  black metal  sound  with  the  album  originally  being  self  released  in  2010  and  later  re-issued  by  Zwaertgevegt  and  Obscure  Abbhorance  Productions  with  the  ep  being  called  "Bellum  Omnium  Contra  Omnes".

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  synths  and  pianos  bring  a  very  atmospheric,  ambient  and  neo  classical  sound  to  the  recording,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  use  some  raw  and  primitive  elements  as  well  as  a  great  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  in  the  riffing  and  there  are no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

  Vocals  are  all  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams,  while  the  lyrics  cover  loss,  grief,  frustration  and  anger,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  sound  with  the  only  song  on  this  album  being  almost  30  minutes  in  length.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Wilds  Forlorn  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  BUY.

Wilds Forlorn/The Great Loss/2010 Demo Review

  Wilds  Forlorn  are  a  1  man  band  from  the  Netherlands  that  plays  a  very  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2010  demo  "The  Great  Loss".

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while t he  synths  bring  a  very  dark,  atmospheric,  ambient  and  neo  classical  sound  to  the  recording,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  In  my  opinion  Wilds  Forlorn  are  a  very  great  sounding  atmospheric  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Great  Loss"  and  "Wilds  Forlorn".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
