Naught/Crawl/2013 EP Review

  This  is  the  final  review  of  a  recording  from  Naught  which  continues  their  hybrid  of  primitive  occult  black  metal  with  doom  and  dark  ambient  with  the  ep  being  self  released  in  2013  and  called  "Crawl".

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music  at  times,  while  the  synths  bring  a  very  dark, atmospheric  and  ambient  sound  to  the  recording,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  raw  and  primitive  sounding  occult  black  metal  with  dark  ambient  and  doom  metal  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

  Vocals  are  all  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  black  metal screams  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness,  occultism  and  left  hand  path  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Naught  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  primitive  occult  black  metal  mixed  with  dark  ambient  and  doom  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Apocalyptic  Key"  and  "Crawl".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.

  This  is  another  review  of  a  recording  from  Naught  which  continues  their  hybrid  of  raw  and  primitive  sounding  occult  black  metal,  doom,  and  dark  ambient  with  the  album  being  self  released  in  2013  and  called  "A  Lesser  Star  Will  Take  Our  Souls,  For  The  Burden  Of  The  Gods  Will  Keave  The  Flames  To  Tartarus.

  Drums  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  playing  with  only  a  small  amount  of  fast  drumming  and  blast  beats  being  present on  this  recording,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Naught  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  occult  black  metal  mixed  with  dark  ambient  and  doom,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Fates  never  Favor  Those  Who  Journey  to  The  Outer  Realms"  "Moloch"  and  "Ides  Of  March".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.

Naught/( lofi 4-Track takes)/2013 Demo Review

  Naught  are  a  band  from  Dallas,  Texas  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  primitive  form  of  occult  black  metal  with  doom  and  dark  ambient  elements  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2013  demo "( lofi  4-Tack  takes)".

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  sound  effects  bring  a  dark  ambient  and  occult  feeling  to  the  recording,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  occult  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  dark, raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  some  doom  metal  influences  in  the  riffing  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

  Vocals  are  mostly  distorted  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  with  some  melodic  chanting,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Necromancy  and  Left  Hand  Path  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

  In  my  opinion  Naught  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  primitive  occult  black  metal  band  with  elements  of  doom  and  dark  ambient  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Trance  Inducing  Ritual  To  Commune  With  The  Dead".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
