Chorizo Con Papa Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?
We are a latin group born in mid-2018, based on bad taste, satire and controversy, thus creating our own genre "Black Kitsch Abstract Metal".

2.Can you tell us a little bit more about your musical style?
Kitsch Metal, is characterized by carrying a radical thought, on the most mean and coarse side of the human being. This is based on the principle of overcoming, we constantly challenge the archetypes and stereotypes of society, we mock and spit on everything, our families, our community, religion, politics, black metal and other groups and even ourselves. This genre is not only that, a genre, it is also a movement and a lifestyle, since you constantly break your own schemes and insecurities, making fun of them, making them your bitch. Basically, kitsch is satire towards everyone and everything, there are no rules, you make fun of everything, under the principle of overcoming (and without harming anyone) facing something strong will only make you less weak. Currently our society is governed by the thinking of sensitive people and without judgment, kitsch seeks to eradicate that behavior. Example, we can make fun of the LGBT community and that does not mean that we are homophobic (some of us in the band are part of that community), we can make fun of South Americans and that does not mean that we are racist (The Singer is from Venezuela, lol). It is all about knowing how to take life calmly, knowing how to respond to situations that, although they are not fatal, afflict our own moral and sometimes physical integrity, the best way to strengthen your abilities is to attack your weaknesses and that is why "we do not we have hair on our tongues" when it comes to speaking. Life is about taking it easy and if your intestines are leaking, just laugh, you're going to die anyway.

3.You refer to your music as being 'black kitsch abtract metal', can you tell us a little bit more about this term?
It was born one night after rehearsing with the band, we were Exodar, a friend and I (Xinx). We were talking about how to define the band, since we used to pose as "Industrial Grunge" before, but this boy named Octavio (our friend), a local journalist, suggested that our genre would fit more with the term Kitsch, since we were too exaggerated in the clothes and lyrics, without putting the fact that we play a hybrid of black metal with other genres. That's when Exodar and I said that the word abstract came in just the same, since anyone could interpret a sexist and stupid song like "Te Voy a Chupar el Burro" as a masterpiece, when in reality only talks about a guy who only thinks in sex. Between drinks of vodka and laughter, what we would know today as BKAM, an unprecedented genre, would emerge. We are Black Metal by sound, we are Kitsch by thinking and we are Abstract by how others can interpret us.

4. What are some of the themes and lyrics that the band has explored so far with music?
As I mentioned before, we play all kinds of controversial topics without any scruples, we have talked about religion in songs like "Mercaderes de la Paz", about a post-apocalyptic future where buying food is a luxury in the song "Taquitos a 100 Varos ", of how any imbecile who claims to be your friend can stab you in the back in "Judas También tocaba el Bajo" and even how menstruation can kill you in" Itzel's Death ". I insist, this band and genre are governed by satire, we make fun of everything and everyone, including ourselves.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Chorizo Con Papa'?
It is a very simple story, the guitarists were drunk and one said to another "we should make a band called Papas con Chorizo" and that's how it was created. Then it was that the name was changed to Chorizo con Papa.

6.You have a show planned for the end of August, what can fans expect from one of your live performances?
First of all, the show had to be rescheduled by the end of the year, due to the Covid 19 contingency, but about a show from us ... I can assure you that they will come out full of sweat, beer, blood, our singer blood and some with bruises. In our presentations we give our best and let go of all that anger that we carry inside, not to mention that most of the time we are drunk.

7.Recently you where also a part of a split, can you tell us a little bit more about the bands or musical projects you shared this recording with?
Lords of Kitsch Metal, one of the best jobs we've ever collaborated on. A split full of shit and blood, of kitsch and destruction. All the bands in the split are bands that we have good friends with, especially with the colombos of Kathreptis, my guitarist (Tlato) and I are fans of their sound. Ni Una Menos is a very good band to be mean, their songs don't last more than 5 seconds and they can't be taken seriously, but above all, these guys know very well how to make feminists mad without dad and people without reason, that is the reason why I like them so much, nor do they take their music seriously, only idiotic people could believe that they really want to skin women. To those of Black Dracul I have too much respect, in Ecuador they are known as Pornographic Black Metal and the truth, the title they deserve. Their sound is too powerful and they can make any atmosphere dense with their mere presence, I usually refer to my good friend the Agamonth as the "Fire Spit", since in his presentations he uses torches and spits flames. Drudenfuss, I have been meeting José Rojas and Frandy Molina for 4 years, they are very humble and talented people, they have always been supporting CCP and they have never turned their backs on us, those guys are worth their weight in gold, especially now that one one of them ventures into the world of record labels and they always have us in mind. All the bands on this album are good and there is nothing that makes us think otherwise.

8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?
We have had too much support. Many people since our genesis have fervently supported us, making appearances in magazines, YouTube channels, pages, blogs, reviews and an endless number of things that sometimes we do not even know how we got there, we have sounded in 3 of the 5 continents (America, Asia and Europe) and we were even invited by Metal Hammer Portugal to participate in a compilation, which we declined because they charge dearly (haha). We have published our demo on labels and broadcasters in Chile, Italy, Japan, Venezuela, Mexico, USA and many more countries. We also had the opportunity to get a collaboration with Johan Gabrielson, a former Lifelover Member, although for various reasons, this collaboration has been postponed. Detractors of our idea and sound have always been and always will be, we are not interested in what people think, for us all can go to hell, whoever likes our noise will always have a place in our hearts and in our lives We owe them our success and whoever doesn't like it can suck our dick. And to all the trve blackers who read this interview and are bothered by our Dadaism and our way of thinking, who are going to lick their mother's tits, we are not interested in their problems.

9.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the futre?
On tours or in a grave, if the alcohol doesn't kill us, we kill ourselves, the only thing we stay alive for is this group crap. We love our fans and our music, we have many plans and to tell them where we are in the future would be to tell them the story, we prefer that they take the surprise, although as a small exclusive for this interview, we are preparing a tour between towns in the Yucatan peninsula If all goes well, we will soon be offering you our music at their closest seedy bars.

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had a n influence on the music of 'Chorizo Con Papa'?
Saying bands would make this interview too long, but of genres, there is a huge malagama of them. Mainly we have been influenced by Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Nu Metal, Latin rhythms, Hip Hop, Grunge, Psychedelic Music, Surf Rock, Post-Punk, Hardcore and Funk, this is why we do not define ourselves exactly as Dry "Black Metal". Each member in their inception brought a genre to the group, Exodar liked Atmospheric Black Metal, Surf Rock and Punk Tlato, Toro (our ex-drummer who is still in rehabilitation) Thrash Metal and Post-Hardcore and I the Depressive Suicidal Black Metal and Grunge, resulting in the spawn we see today

11.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Thank you all for your support and to your magazine for the interview. ¡Long live Kitsch Metal! Y que chingue su madre el Ámerica.
