Goddamn Gringos are a band from the United States that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording goes for a mixture of black, death, thrash metal and grindcore and this is a review of their album "Gnarled Remains Of Decency" which will be released in 2024 by Snow Wolf Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording. Spoken word samples can also be heard briefly along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody and thrash metal elements and the vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death emtal growls.
When the music speeds up blast beats and influences of grindcore can also be heard while the songs also add in both old school and modern influences. Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the tremolo picking in the faster riffing also giving the music more of a raw feeling when they are utilized, clean playing can also b e heard briefly.
On this recording Goddamn Gringos takes black, death, thrash metal and mixes them together to create a very diverse release. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover anti religion, dark and political themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Goddamn Gringos and if you are a f an of black, death, thrash metal and grindcore, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "God's Favorite Fuck Pig" "Gringos On Pikes" "Gethsemane" and "Glass Cathedrals". 8 out of 10.
