Nocturnal Fear/Code Of Violence/Moribund Records/2010 CD Review

  Nocturnal Fear are a band from Detroit, Michigan that have also been interviewed by this zine that plays a style that I would describe as being war/black/death/thrash metal and this is a review of their 2008 album "Code Of Violence" which was released by Moribund Records.

Drums are mostly fast with a lot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing utilizes a lot of fast riffs which follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound.

Rhythm guitars are mostly fast riffs which combine war/black/death and thrash metal together with only a small amount of slow playing being used at times, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding war/death thrash guitar solos.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams with some deep growls being thrown in at times, while the lyrics touch on violence, war, and metal with some references to the philosophy of Fredreich Nietzsche and the Necronomicon, as for the production on this recording at the Tempermill Studios in Detroit, Michigan during February of 2008 has a very, raw, heavy and professional sound to it.

In my opinion this was another great album from Nocturnal Fear and if you are a fan of this band you probably already own this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Code Of Violence" "Rotting In Hell" "Skull Splitter" and "Path To Power". RECOMMENDED BUY.

5. What are some of the best live shows that you have played so far?
