Kaosekt are a band from Greece that plays a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "The Fathomless Void Of Death" which was released by Death's Ovations.
Ritualistic soundscapes and synths start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are done in more of an angry black metal style mixed in with a few screams and the music is very heavily rooted in the old school tradition.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the guitar leads also being done in a melodic style when they are finally utilized.
Kaosekt plays a style of black metal that is very raw, aggressive and fast in the classic tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw with all the tracks being recorded live while the lyrics cover Occultism, Death and Chaos themes.
In my opinion Kaosekt are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fiery Tongues Of Chaos" and "Winds Of Morbidity". 8 out of 10.
