Sar Nath are a solo project from Texas that has been featured before in this zine and plays a psychotic form of black metal and this is a review of his 2015 ep "Epilogue Eternal" which was released by Merdumgiriz.
Melodic and depressive sounding guitar leads start off the ep along with some grim black metal vocals and screams a few seconds later which also leads up to some crazy sounding programmed drum beats and the riffs also use a decent amount of melody and a couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
A lot of the screams are in a high pitched direction and when the music speeds up it brings in more of a raw black metal style and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some of the slower sections also incorporating elements of doom metal and the music also brings in a trace of the depressive style at times along with some influences of the early 2000's black metal style and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts and the ep closes with a harsh noise outro.
Sar Nath focuses more on a guitar orientated style of black metal this time around creating a recording that is very grim, raw and depressive sounding, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover ghosts, demons, mental illness and private hells.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sar Nath and if you are a fan of psychotic black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "From Life To Soulrot". 8 out of 10.
