Well, we listen to alot of subgenres within metal, but we'd recommend Watain, Naglfar, Setherial, Wolves in the Throne Room, and Ahab

It's really nonexistent, but we're trying to expand it.

1. Can you give us a brief history of the band?

Fall 1999 – Birth.
Fall 2002 – Debut demo record was unleashed
Spring 2003 - Beyond Ye Grave split up. Since 2003 I played in a few black metal bands.
08.07.2007 - Rebirth. New demo recorded.

2. How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you before?

This is the fast old school Black Metal in Swedish style. Here in Russia our fans named our band - Alcoholic Satanic Commando because we are totally fucking drunkards, ha ha!

3. What are some of the best shows that you have played so far and which crowds would you say are the craziest or best?
Two latest shows were the best in band’s concert practice. These were awesome gigs.
I vomited beer to the crowd be twin proclamations. Of course we were drunk but we played our songs very well. It was Alcoholic Satanic Madness on the scene.

4. Are there any plans for a U.S tour?

We will be glad to make a tour outside Russia. But it is very difficult. Our band not so famous in USA and Europe. So if some people have an interest to bring us to Europe, America and Asia fell free to contact us.

5. I read on your website that one of the band members committed suicide, what effect did that have on the band?

Yes. It was Sir Northdark, also played in Northdark, Taniniver, Cerber. He was a brilliant composer! It is very sad that he is gone so young (he was just 19). He was very depressed his last days. Russian Black metal has lost a most talented person. But suicide was his decision, I respect his choice.

6. When I looked at the back of your cd cover I noticed there was a new take on David Lane's 14 words and there was support for 14 words propaganda, does anyone in the band have any involvement with the ns movement?

No! You can call us NS but only under the following conception – Nihilistic Satanic Black Metal. I have some racistic ideas but it is my personal deal. There is no pure aryan blood in the world of today. We hailing the Death of all mankind - black, white, yellow or red – it is no matter. Hail Satan!

7. What are your main influences music wise or non music wise?

My favourite bands – Iron Maiden, Manowar, Judas Priest (Ram it Down, Painkiller, Jugulator), old Kreator, old Mayhem, Korrozia Metalla, Necrophobic, Dissection, Dark Funeral etc. My music inspired by these bands.

8. What are you listening nowadays and what are some good bands or releases that you would recommend?

I totally recommend you some Russian bestial hordes – Inferious Torment, Pogost, Pro Inferis, Storming Darkness, Doomguard, Melkor. These bands are really outstanding! Find a time to check their materials!
And also I recommend you a project’s of our ex-member Sir Northdark (R.I.C) Taniniver and Northdark! His albums are masterpieces!

9. What role does Satanism or Occultism play in the bands music or life?

Satanism is the main reason of BYG’s existence. We are possessed by it. All our themes are dedicated to dissolution of the Demiurgh’s creation. Praise the Chaos!

10. What are some good books or films that you would recommend?

Holy Bible is very interesting book. Also I like H.P. lovecraft, Lotreamon, Marquise de Sad, Koran! Films –bigger part of David Linch’s movies, also Dead Alive, Evil Dead, also films of Russian director Svetlana Baskova - Elephant Green, Head, 5 bottles of Vodka, Mozart.

11. How would you describe the black metal scene in Russia and how would you compare it to other European countries?

A few years ago Russian scene was a fucking shit. Brainless bands with boring music and stupid ideas. There were just a few good hordes. Now situation is better. Now we have a many strong serious bands. Our scene is underestimated. I hope some day our bands will be well known in Europe and America, not only in Russia and CIS.

Dhul-Qarnayn Interview

1. Can you give us a brief history of the band?

Dhul-Qarnayn was formed in the early year 2006 in Bahrain, the band ventured through many members, but eventually lead up to just myself behind all disharmonic progressions.

2. How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you before?

A subliminal violation of sentiment and sanity.

3. What is the meaning behind the band's name?

It means "he of the two horns" or "he of the two centuries" it was given to a character in the Quran. But I saw no relevance to what was falsely misplaced, instead it had more sense in it being crowned to Satan. After all, who's influence do you see more comprehensive in reality? One way or the other, they all foolishly contradict what they tried so hard to banish. But then again illusion and dellusion dont run in the same current as logic.

4. What is it like being a black metaler in a Muslim country?

Well this kind of art is certainly not accepted here, I doubt any for that matter. I have many enemies most I haven't had the pleasure of encountering as of yet. There have been many posts in the news and other false information by the media about political and cult activists with no valid motive other than the genuine. The main message they want to convey is fear and conspiracy, so others would do their dirty work for them, which would then most likely lead to corporal punishment approved by the overlords.

5. How would you describe your musical progress over the years?

Due to the lack of equipment, it has been quite a challenge. It wasn't such a walk in the breeze to get most of the tools I have now, despite starting at the early age of 14 when I was involved in another solo project called Qeyamah. At the time I wrote and recorded a demo entitled "Visions of a Flase Prophet"with both English and Arabic titles and lyrics. I only had a mere 10 Watt amp, a simple drummachine, 4-track mixer, and a distorted microphone, and self-released it here amongst people I was associated with in the past. Needless to say things have changed since then, and I'm currently experimenting with unorthodox traditions, instruments and structures to get the obliterating projection I'm going for.

6. What releases have you put out so far?

In early 2008 I recorded a demo entitled "Shirk" which means "Heathanism" in English, later I produced a single I regret (musically) but I've given up on using samples or any kind of loop for that matter, I have great plans for the next. Other than that, with the help of two other bands from my area we've managed to release the first blasphemous split album entitled "Narcotized" with bands from here with Arabic and English languages used. And recently I've self-released "Det Bur Ulv" A tribute to Burzum EP, which means "There Lives a Wolf" containing four tracks, and one original composed track with lyrics in Norwegian. As for the near future.. You'll just have to wait and witness.

7. What are your main influences music wise or non music wise?

My musical influences range from Black Metal to even 18th century classical music, I feel the same atmosphere of empty skies when I listen to Franz Liszt's "Grey Clouds" piecing the portrait of mankinds eradication through Judas Iscariot's "The Cold Earth Slept Below".Non-musically I am inspired by nature, dreams, psychology, reality, literature, philosophy and the list goes on and on.

8. What are you listening to nowadays and what are some good bands or releases that you would recommend?

Lately I've been really into Iranian Black Metal, but some albums I'd recommend in an unfashionably manner is:

I'd rather not refer to my spiritual belief as a limb of some sort, but to answer your question; Most use Satan as a symbol of rebellion, only a few actually practice the black arts. I myself am a theistic Satanist, yet unconventional. Satan is the entity of life and freedom, and He has been ruling this earth since the dawn of Eden, whereas God is a merely a defense mechanism gone wrong.

10. What are some good books or films that you would recommend?

1. Can you give us a brief history of the band!
The band was founded in 1995 by drummer Summum Algor and others.
Over time we changed many members.
In 1997 comes the first demo-tape: The Black Diamond Gates (Pagan Moon Rec.).
In 1999 the first album Animadverte, comes out (Scarlet Rec.).
In 2008 Proclama comes out for Bloodred Horizon Rec.
Now we are at work for the new album.

2. How would you describe your style of music to someone who has never heard you before!
Fast and atmospheric black metal… generally we prefer that the music speaks for us, also because we believe that our style is really original.
It’s difficult to describe, easier to listen.

3. According to your bio your band has ex members of Evol, has anyone else been in any other bands and if so what were they!
This is a mistake: we have shared the stage with Evol, but none of them was a member of Adversam.

4. I noticed there was a 9 year gap between albums what was going on at the time!
Promoting Animadverte and frequent changes of line up, it took much time; also, the realization of Proclama was quite complex.

5. Do you have any plans for any new material.
Now we're working on the creation of the next full length. As soon as the new stuff is ready, we'll enter studio.

6. What direction do you see the band going into during the future!
We hope to be able to play what we feel without compromise, and able to produce our records.
We proceed in stages: next step is to record the new album. The rest will be!

7. What were some of the best live shows that you have done and which crowds were the best or craziest.
Without doubt the best were two: we opened the concert of the Immortal in Italy for the Blizard Beast Tour in 1998,a great honor; in 2000 we played in Milan at the Binario Zero, where we received great support from the people who came there.

8. What are your influences music wise and non music wise.
Difficult to answer, because we are 6 people and everyone has their preferences in music. All we listen to black metal, but also other genres… everything that moves us!

9 What rules does Satanism, Occultism, Left Hand Path or Anti Christianity play in the bands music and lifestyle
Have a very marginal role.
Too often the black metal is associated with these issues, but black metal is not “propaganda”, it's music!
We tell ourselves through music, we do not know a better subject than this.

10 I noticed you have switched labels in between albums, will the next album be released on another label as well!
We do not know anything about this yet, though Our current label has made a great work for Us, we're truly satisfied, so we don't think a change will be.

11. What are some good books or films that you would recommend!
you can not answer this question as band!

12. What are some new bands that you are listening these days and what are some good bands that you would recommend
As said before, we're six members in Adversam and everyone of Us listens to different kinds of Music, and could recommend many bands due to own personal tastes, but we prefer not to say any name.

13. How would you describe the metal scene in Italy these days and what are some good bands that are coming out of there recently!
The scene is very fragmented.We know many Italian bands, few of them we know personally, though it is difficult to become known here.we could advise Natassievila, that is a project of Asterion and Summum Algor; in their first album Iter Lethalis (Dark Horizon Rec.) partecipated Katharos our current singer.Now they are working for the second album with Negatium Corporis. (bass-voice). For the others Italian bands, we just say that good bands know perfectly if they're good or not! as happens to any good bands, we support each other.

Puter Deus/Anti-All ep review

Puter Deus is a one man band hailing from Greece and I would describe their style as raw black metal and this is a review of their new ep "Anti-All".

Drums are mostly slow on the first song while on the second song they start to speed up a little bit with some really fast blast beats, while the bass playing seems to use a lead that reminds me of a certain well known Greek black metal band from the 90's and it has a real dark tone.

Guitars are mostly fast rhythms that seem to be somewhat thrash influenced mixed with a more modern raw black metal edge, while the vocals are high pitched black metal screams and on the first song a could hear choir type vocals being utilized. Production on this ep sounds really good and you can hear all of the instruments and since I got this ep in MP3 format I did not receive a copy of the lyrics but by judging by the song titles they seem to be about a hatred for humanity and life.

In my opinion this is a really good ep, the only thing I found disappointing was that it was only 2 songs, I would of liked to hear more music from this band. I would recommend this group to fans of Greek and raw black metal.  RECOMMENDED.

1. Can you give us a brief history of the band?
WELL ALL BEGINS IN AUGUST 2000, AND IN 2001 I WAS WITH THE NAME EDGE OF
VENOM, BUT AT THAT TIME I WAS BUSY PLAYING WITH OTHER BANDS UNTIL 2005
THAT I DECIDED TO GO BACK TO MY SOLO PROJECT BUT THIS TIME WAS MORE
SERIOUS AND THATS WHY I CHANGE THE NAME FOR the true...MANTUS. IN MY
MUSIC I WANT TO express totally my ideas about the Satanism, injustices in the world, and religious lies. Mantus is for my GOD!, is not whatever name that i chooses to put it on my band, Mantus is the God of the underworld and husband of Mania, he torments the souls, he send demons to the earth so they can bring more souls to his kingdom. Mantus was the right hand of Satan but he revealed him, like Satan did with "God", now Mantus have his own kingdom and im here to be the priest and collect more souls to him. Mantus and Satan continue been partners against JESUS CHRIST AND FUCKING "god".

2. How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you
before?

AGGRESSIVE,RAW,CULT, IS HARD TO DESCRIBE IT, BUT...I JUST CAN SAY THAT IS
PURE SOUTH AMERICAN RAW SOUND.

Alot of people are confuse with satanism rituals, i continue believing in my ancestral rituals (the incas), they did exactly the same as the satanism rituals, but they was more cult,and of course they was the first to do it not the satanist, the incas and mayans take out the heart of the body even when the person was alive, and they let the blood going down to a BLOOD POOL, but then when the Spanish saw that ritual, they put the name of.."SATANIC ANTI-CHRIST RITUAL", because for them the human sacrifice is not that "god" want.
So basically the satanic rituals came from that old ages of the mayan &incas empire.
That are my rituals and culture, also to be more in contact with the nature.

Personal i dont compare between north,central & south american Metal, because for me, all!! we have really good music! and bands!, we have to be proud that we are all one huge continent united in music and history, for my opinion all america have great bands, from Canada to Chile, you will find an awesome bands, very old school bands, even bands that influenced the Europeans bands.

Imperial Triumphant Interview

> 1. Can you give us a brief history of the band?

Phlegethon: We came to conception in the year 2005 A.D. in the EmpireState, New York City. I am the founding member. After a year of writing music we became a performing outfit with the addition of bassist Naagryl and drummer Maelstrom. Our company was made whole with the final member joining, Amarok on cello. Then in the winter of 2008 they parted with Maelstrom and hired the mighty Aleksandr to man the skins. From 2007-recent we've been playing local clubs around the city and recorded songs for our debut album.>

2. How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you> before?
>
Naagryl: Imperial Triumphant plays viking war metal with a thrash edge, and we mix our dynamics from a brutal blasting assault to epic melody. We choose to create a very grim and medieval atmosphere.>

3. Were did you come up with the idea for the band name?
>
P: I was born in raised in New York City. The Empire State. The greatest city in the world. I was born into a family of nobility. So naturally I have the desire to conquer and see the world as my throne.Also we are from the USA which has a history rich in imperialism.Imperial Triumphant is the perfect name for us because it reflects our music exactly as it sounds. Two moods. Imperial aggressive speed and triumphant melodic glory.

4. Have you received any label interest yet?

>
N: I've been working to put together a comprehensive promotional kit,which is almost complete. We've received good criticisms from a few,and we're slowly getting the word out more and more. With all the virgin blood we spill for Odin, a contract doesn't seem far off.

5. What are some of the best shows that you have played so far?
>
N: My favorite show we've played was our last one, the first round of a battle of the bands at Sullivan Hall in NYC. It was our first with Aleksandr behind the kit and we absolutely murdered our set. Our armor was brutal as fuck and our corpse paint was utterly grotesque. I also vomited acid blood all over the audience and they fucking drank it all. The judge had no choice but to let us conquer.
P: My favorite gig was a local school show we did. Most of theaudience was made up of little kids. All the other bands were playing guns and roses acoustic covers  and then we came onstage in full armor and corpse paint. I torn up a bible and then we played our set whil eall these little kids were crying.

6. How would you describe the musical progress over the years?
>
P: It only gets stronger. We're progressively getting more darker and technical. We have been and always will be pushing for faster speeds.I really like the idea of black metal with guitar solos because there isn't much of that. Lately Naargryl writes a lot of melodic stuff while I take care of the darker more atonal riffs. I'm currently enrolled in a music academy where I am learning so much and when we get the money to record another album it will be the most epic work.

7. How would you describe the lyrical content of the music?
>
P: My lyrics reflect my favorite parts of ancient medieval history and mythology. We are skalds who spin tales of war and combat. A lot of songs have to do with either vikings, epic battles, raping nuns and/or raiding monasteries.

P: Empiricism, ancient and medieval history and mythology.
N: Frost covered landscapes and pagan tradition, heathenism and the brotherhood of northern blood.

N: The gods of the Northern Pantheon are very near to us and have helped us greatly as a band in exchange for our undying loyalty. We give praise and sacrifice unto them as it seems fit, and they and the Norns have granted us great fortune. We invoke them before every show or important moment, and they guide us with omens and grace us with victory

N: We read the traditional sagas and eddas for inspiration andstrength before battle. Our favorites are the Heimskringla and theVolsung Saga. My favorite films are Dead Alive, The Big Lebowski andThis is Spinal Tap.

13. How would you compare the metal scene in New York to other states?
>
N: Metal in New York is a diverse thing. There are a lot of scene wigger pussy slamcore bands like everywhere else, but there is also the New York Death Militia, which is very powerful in the underground here. Since we're in the city, we have a lot of opportunities to play shows at great venues, but there's a great lack of dedicated black metal warriors like ourselves.
