L'Homme Absurde are a band from Russia that plays post black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Monsters" which was released by Fono Ltd.
A very heavy and melodic sound starts off the album and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the vocals are high pitched depressive black metal screams and when the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music also brings in a great amount of modern post black metal elements and as the album progresses acoustic guitars can be heard in certain sections of the recording and the music also gets very atmospheric at times and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and some songs also bring in elements of traditional post or indie rock.
L'Homme Absurde plays a style of post black metal that is more raw and aggressive than most bands of this genre, the production sounds very dark, raw and heavy while the lyrics cover relations, religion and identity crisis themes.
In my opinion L'Homme Absurde are a very great sounding post black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Villians' "Wanderer" and "Wires". 8 out of 10.
