Lust Hag/Mistress In The Mirror/Fiadh Productions/2023 Full Length Review

 

  Lust  Hag  is  a  solo  artist  from  Montana  that  plays  a  very  dirty  and  blazing  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  her  2023  album  "Mistress  in  The  Mirror"  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Fiadh  Productions.

  Ambient  style  keyboards  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  at  times.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  the  album  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast beats  can  also  be  heard   along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  one  track  also  being  an  instrumental  and  when  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  they  also  give  the  recording  more  of  a r aw  feeling.

  Lust  Hag  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw,  lo-fi  and  atmospheric  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  vampirism  themes.

  In  my  opinio9n  Lust  Hag  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw,  lo-fi  and  atmospheric  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Beckoning  Void"  and  "Vampiric  Revelation (Mistress  in  The  Mirror)".  8 out  of  10.
