Veia are a band from Italy that plays a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of his 2025 demo "Tuchulcha/ II ritorno di Tuchulcha" which will be released in may by Prehistoric Sounds.
Bass guitar leads start off the demo along with some heavy riffs and drum beats a few seconds later. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody as well as some blast beats also being added into the faster sections of the songs.
When tremolo picking is added into the faster riffing they also give the music more of a raw feeling while the recording is very heavily rooted in the 90's era. When guitar solos and leads are utilzied they are also done in a very melodic yet old school style along with the songs also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Veia plays a style of black metal that is very raw and old school in the 90's tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover the Etruscans, an ancient pre-Roman civilization which inhabited central Italy.
In my opinion Veia are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Il ritorno di Tuchulcha". 8 out of 10.
