Hangover In Minsk are a band from Poland that plays a very depressive form of post black metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Party Is Over" which was released by Mork Stork Productions.
Clean playing starts off the album which also brings in elements of post rock while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Clear singing can also be heard at times along with the harsh vocals being mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Spoken words and whispers can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while the faster sections of the album also add in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling. A couple of tracks also add in sessions vocals from Deha and Kim Carlsson along with some of the songs also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Hangover In Minsk plays a musical style that takes a depressive form of black metal and mixes it with post rock to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover drowning your sorrows in alcohol.
In my opinion Hangover In Minsk are a very great sounding depressive post black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Farewell" "Devil In Me Wants To Dance" and "Party Is Over". 8 out of 10.
