Premature Birth are a band from the United Kingdom that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 album "A Ceremony Of Power".
Dark sounding keyboards start off the album and after a few seconds grim black metal screams make their way into the music and it starts going into a heavier and faster direction along with some blast beats while also keeping around the keyboards and adding in melodies and they also bring in a mixture of slow, mid pace d and fast parts.
All of the musical instruments on the album have a very powerful sound to them and they also have the perfect balance between clean and heavy parts and at times you can also hear a small amount of death metal growls being used in the background and all of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
The guitar solos and leads the band uses take the music into a more melodic black metal direction and the song s the band brings onto the album take a lot of the mid 90's styling's of some of the more well known black metal of the English, Norwegian and Swedish bands of that era but with a more update take and adding in a small amount of depressive black metal elements.
Premature Birth play a more keyboard driven form of black metal they have a more heavier sound than most keyboard orientated bands and they also add in elements of dsbm, death metal and a great amount of melody to create their own sound, the production sound s very powerful and heavy for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Premature are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Revelation" and "War Against The Filth". 8 out of 10.
