Daat are a band from Russia that plays a very raw form of occult black metal and this is a review of their 2015 ep "There Are None So Blind As Those That Will Not See" which was released by Heretic Rex.
Dark sounding synths start off the ep and they also use a variety of many different sounding keys and after the intro the music goes into more of a heavy and melodic musical direction while also introducing black metal screams onto the recording and they also mix both the heavy and atmospheric sides together.
When the music speeds up it goes for more of a raw style of black metal along with a great amount of blast beats and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and when guitar leads are brought into the music they give the songs more of a melodic style and the music is more rooted in the modern style of occult black metal and synths also make a return on the last track.
Daat plays a style of occult black metal that is very raw and melodic and also brings in a Swedish influenced atmosphere to their musical style, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Anti Cosmic Satanism, Luciferian, Ancient Philosophy, Occultism, and the writings of H.P Lovecraft.
In my opinion Daat are a very great sounding raw and melodic occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "From The Sheer Void And Nothingness" and "Illuminating Whereas Withering". 8 out of 10.
