Onirik/Walking as a Shadow/Satan's Millenim Records/2004 CD Review

Onirik are a band from Portugal that plys a very raw and brutal form of black metal and this is a review of their 2004 album Walking As A Shadow" which was released by Satan's Millenium Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being used at times, while the bass playing is mixed down low in the mix and seems to follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound powerful.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast raw black metal riffs that are also melodic at times and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are a mixture of high pitched and grim sounding black metal screams mixed in with some ocassional suicidal cries, while the lyrics cover Luciferian, Dark Witchcraft, Occultism, and Darkness, as for the production it sounds very dark, raw and heavy.

In my opinion Onirik are a very good raw and brutal sounding black metal band, and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hymn To Lucifer" "Curse Of The Witch" and "Thunderstorm". RECMMONED BUY.
