Ytivarg/Self Titled/2006 EP Review

  Ytivarg  are  a  band  from  the  Czech  Republic  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  primitive  form  of  old  school  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  and  self  released  2006  demo.

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they h ave  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  old  school,  raw  and primitive  sounding  with  some  melody  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  at  times,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  old school  sounding  black  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads  that  utilize  some  melody  at  times.

  Vocals  are  all  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  black  metal s creams,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Paganism  and  Mythology,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  old  school,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

  In  my  opinion  Ytivarg  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  primitive  old  school  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Frozen  Scars"  and  "Dark  Skies".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
