Departure Chandelier are an international band with members from the United States and Canada that plays a very raw, epic and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Antichrist Rise To Power" which will be released in February by Nuclear War Now! Productions.
Dark sounding synths start off the album and they also mix in with the heavier sections of the music at times along with some battle samples in the background before going into a heavier direction which also introduces grim black metal screams onto the recording along with the music also being very heavily rooted in the 90's era.
When tremolo picking is utilized it gives the songs more of a raw feeling while blast beats can also be heard when the music speeds up along with some of the riffing also adding in a small amount of melody as well as one track also introducing melodic guitar leads onto the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Departure Chandelier plays a style of black metal that is very raw, epic and atmospheric sounding in the 90's tradition, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are a concept album based upon the Antichrist Napoleon,s rise to power.
In my opinion Departure Chandelier are a very great sounding raw, epic and atmospheric black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album.
