Min/Black/Aorora Fatalis/Betrayal/Digipus Music/2024 EP Review

 

  Min  are  a  band  from  Norway  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  ep  "Black/Aurora  Fatalis/Betrayal"  which  consists  of  all  3  of  their  singles  and  was  released  by  Digipus  Music.

  A  very  heavy  yet  melodic  sound  starts  off  the  ep  before  going  into a   very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals are mostly  grim  black  metal  screams  mixed  in  with  some  clean  singing  and  the  music  is  heavily  rooted  in  the  classic  Nordic  style.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  atmospheric  sounding  along  with  one  song  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing.

  Min  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  heavily  rooted  in  the  classic  Nordic  style  as  well a s  adding  in  some  more  modern  and  atmospheric  touches  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  nature,  winter  and  betrayal  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Min  are  a  very  great  sounding  atmospheric  and  old  school  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Aurora  Fatalis".  8  out  of  10.
