Samiarus are a band from Oakland, California that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal with elements of hardcore punk, industrial and noise and this is a review of their 2025 ep "Reign Destroyer" which will be released in April by Sentient Ruin Laboratories.
A very noise and industrial orientated intro starts off the ep along with some demonic voices in the background before going into a heavier direction. Vocals are a mixture of bestial growls and black metal screams while the riffs also add in a small amount of dark sounding melodies and blast beats are also added into t he faster sections of the songs.
The faster riffing also adds in a lot of war metal elements and tremolo picking which also gives the recording more of raw feeling. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very chaotic style while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as some of the riffing also adding in touches of hardcore punk and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them, spoken words are also added towards the end.
Samiarus plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in the war and bestial black/death metal style as well as adding in touches of hardcore punk, noise and industrial to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Occultism, War and Terror themes.
In my opinion Samiarus are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "New Iron Age" and "Crushed By Inferior". 8 out of 10.
