Tsatthoggua where a band from Germany that played a hyper speed form of black metal mixed in with some keyboards and this is a review of their classic 1996 album "Hosana Bizarre" which was released by Osmose productions during the year of 1996.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast fast playing with a lot of brutal brutal sounding blast beats that are used on a regular basis, while the keyboards bring a very dark and atmospheric feeling to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast heavy, brutal raw and primitive sounding hyperspeed black metal riffs that also utilize some thrash and death metal influences as well as some dark sounding melodies and there are no lead guitars or solos present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams mixed in with some clean singing female vocals, deep sounding black/death metal growls, samples and spoken word passages, while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and German with themes that cover Satanism, Anti Christianity, Thule, Luciferian, Sado Masochism, Bondage and Crowleyism in addition the band name came from the writings of H.P Lovecraft, as for the production it has a very powerful, heavy, brutal, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Tsattoggua where a very great heavy, brutal, raw and primitive band and this album still sounds more brutal than most modern black metal, and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Heirs Of Fire" "The Belief - The Lie" "Worm Of Sin" and "Dionysos Ectasy". RECOMMENDED BUY.
