Nosvrolok/Maledictum Parasystus/Desastrious/2005 CD Review

Nosvrolok  are  a  band  that  was  from  Ventura,  California  at  the  time  of  this  recording  then  relocated  to  Southern  Oregon  with  a  music  style  that  I  would  describe  as  being  raw  and  primitive  sounding  occult  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2005  album  "Maledictum  Parasystus" which  was  released  by  Desastrious.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound  with  primitive  recording  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording,  as  for  the  synths  they  are  only  used  briefly  on  one  song  and  bring  a  very  dark  and  atmospheric  sound  to  the  music.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from slow,  mid  paced  to fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  some  dark  melodies  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  as  well  as  some  traditional  metal  influences  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding  black  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads  that  utilize  some  melody,  as  for  the  clasical  guitars  which  are  only  used  on  the  last  song  they  use  finger  picking  and  full  chords  to  add  another  dimension  of  darkness  to  the  music.

Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  hateful  black  metal  screams  that  are  very  easy  to  understand  along  with  some  deep  demonic  growls  being  utilized  on  the  last  song,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Darkness,  Anti  Christian  and  Peverted  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw and  primitive  sound  while  you  can  still  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.

In  my opinion Nosvrolok  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  primitive  occult  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Cunts-Seemingly,  Salivating,  Wet"  and  "When  Those  Rise  To  Feed".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
