War/We Are War/Necropolis Records/1999 CD Review

War  where  a  band  from  Sweden  that  was  a  side  project  of  some  well  known  musicians  from  the  Swedish  black  metal  scene  that  played  a  very  heavy,  brutal,  raw  and  primitive  from  of  war/black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  1999  album  "We  Are  War"  which  was  released  by  Necropolis  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  great  album  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  tone  with riffs  that  dominate  throughout  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  war/black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  heavy,  brutal, raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  some  influences  from  early  80's  black/thrash  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  chaotic  sounding  black/war  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are  all  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  black  metal  screams,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  War  and  Anti  Christian  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful  and  heavy  sound  where  you  can  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.

In  my  opinion  War  where  a  very  great  sounding  of  black  and  war  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "We  Are  War"  "Ave  Satan"  "666"  and  "Bomhenangel"  which  is  a  Sodom  cover.  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
