Dallas Texas's Cara Neir have returned with a new recording which continues their mixture of black metal and crust with the ep being self release d in 2014 and called "The Overwatch".
The ep starts out with a very fast sound with screams that combine black metal and crust together along with some blast beats being thrown into the music and you can also hear a mixture of raw black and death metal influences in t he music while also being influenced by crust and hardcore.
When the ep goes into other songs spoken word samples and clean playing are added into the music and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and you can also hear traces of post rock being mixed in with the black metal and crust sound s of the recording along with a small amount of growls and after awhile the music starts utilizing a small amount of melody, sludge elements and psychedelic sounds while mostly sticking to a heavier direction.
Cara Neir continue their mixture of raw black metal and crust on this recording while also adding in elements of death metal, sludge, hardcore and post rock along with a good mixture of heaviness and melody to create a sound of their own on this recording.
Song lyrics cover violent and hateful themes, while the production has a very raw and heavy sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this is another decent sounding recording from Cara Neir and if you are a fan of black metal and crust, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Combine Desecration" and "Dendrite Stink". 7/8 out of 10.
