U.S.A and Norway duo Signalfeide have returned with a new recording with the music being a mixture of lo-fi black metal and dark ambient and this is a review of their 2014 ep "Occupation Poetry" which was released by Floodgate Moods Productions.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the ep and a few seconds later elements of ambient are added onto the recording and you can also hear some distorted electric guitars being utilized in the background and on the second track the guitars get louder and you can also hear traces of harsh noise and psychedelic music.
When vocals are added into the music they kind of have a whisper style tone to them while they also help bring in more of a black metal feeling while the acoustic guitar remain a huge part of the recording and they also add in progressive music elements along with a track that is over 7 minutes in length while the later tracks still have a black metal influence.
Signalfeide creates a very original style on this ep, while the music still has it's black metal roots the music still goes for more of an experimental direction, the production sounds very dark and raw while lyrics for the most part are absent on this recording.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Signalfeide and if you are a fan of experimental black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Forces Unleashed" and "Morals Flogged". 8 out of 10.
