Dagger Lust are a duo from Portland, Oregon that plays a raw mixture of black, death metal and grindcore with some elements of power electronics and this is a review of their 2018 album "Siege Bondage Adverse To The Godhead" which will be released in April as a joint effort between Invictus and Vrasubatlat.
Brutal blast beats start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which mixes war metal and noisecore together along with some bestial death metal growls while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them as w ell as a couple of tracks being short in length.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while grim black metal screams are also used at times along with some tracks also mixing in harsh power electronics as well as the music being very heavily influenced by grindcore and angry shouts are also used at times and as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing can be heard.
Dagger Lust plays a musical style that takes war, black, death metal, grindcore and power electronics and mixes them together to create something very original, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover sexual depravity, torture and hatred themes.
In my opinion Dagger Lust are a very great sounding mixture of war, black, death metal, grindcore and power electronics and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Augury" "Perverse Divine" and "Siege Bondage Adverse To The Godhead". 8 out of 10.
