Servants Of The Apocalyptic Goat Rave are a duo from the Netherlands that plays a mixture of black metal, breakcore, gabba, rave, ambient and soundscape music and this is a review of their 2018 album "Queen of Darkness" which was released on cassette by Tartarus Records.
Atmospheric soundscapes start off the album along with some elements of ambient before going into more of a harsher gabba direction while the vocals are mostly grim black metal screams as well as the programmed beats also bringing in a great amount of brutality and synths are also a huge part of the music.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great amount of programmed blast beats while the music manages to capture the raw aggression of black metal with the electronics along with some guitar riffing still being utilized as well as spoken word samples being added into certain sections of the recording and some of the tracks also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, as the album progresses the riffs also start bringing in a small amount of melody.
Servants Of The Apocalyptic Goat Rave plays a musical style that takes black metal, breakcore, gabba, rave, and ambient soundscapes and mixes them together to create something very original, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion Servants Of The Apocalyptic Goat Rave are a very great sounding mixture of black metal and electronic music and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Worship" "Kali Rises" and "Mortal Bodies'. 8 out of 10.
