Belgium's Cult Of Erinyes has returned with a new recording which shows the music going for a ritualistic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2024 album "Metempsychosis" which will be released on May 24th by Amor Fati Productions.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and both of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style while both of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. Clear vocals and ritualistic spoken word parts can also be heard in certain sections of the album along with some clean playing also being utilized at times.
The music also h as its atmospheric moments along with the album also adding in some dissonant and ambient touches. Drones can also be heard briefly and the vocals also go into more of a deeper direction at times. the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album based upon the delirium and introspection one can live in in front of death.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Cult Of Erinyes and if you are a f an od ritualistic black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Eternity In A Second". 8 out of 10.
