Germany's Imha Tarikat have returned with a new recording which shows the music going for more of a raw and aggressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Confessing Darkness" which will be released in June by Prophecy Productions.
A very dark sounding intro starts off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also adds in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are done in more of a deep and angry black metal styles and the recording shows influences from both the old school and modern era's of the genre.
Spoken words can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Throughout the album you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them as well as a couple of tracks also being very long and epic in length, clean playing and synths can also be heard briefly.
On this recording Imha Tarikat brings our a very raw, aggressive and hateful form of black metal. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover purest love, darkest hatred, severe depression and outbursts of joy.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Imha Tarikat and if you are a fan of raw and aggressive black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Wicked Shrine" "Excellent Grief" "Horns In The Smoke" and "Pitch Black Reflection". 8 out of 10.
