Voices are a band from the U.K that plays a very heavy and extreme form of black metal with experimental and avant garde elements and this is a review of their 2013 album "From The Human Forest Create A Fuge Of Imaginary Rain" which was released by Candlelight Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the keyboards being a very atmospheric, experimental and avant garde, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very heavy, modern and extreme sounding along with some influences from experimental, avant garde and other genres of melody as well as a great amount of melody in the riffing, as for the lead guitars they are very melodic sounding extreme metal guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized some finger picking to enhance the experimental elements of the music.
Vocals range from grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams that have a depressive tone to them at times as well as some clean singing male and female vocals along with a brief spoken word part, while the lyrics cover dark, philosophical and sexual repression themes, as for the production it has a very strong, dark, heavy and powerful sound with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Voices are a very great sounding heavy and extreme experimental black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Eyes Become Black" "Sexual Isolation" "Everything You Believe Is Wrong" and "Endless". RECOMMENDED BUY.
