False are a band from Minnesota that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their self titled 2011 ep which was released by Gilead Media.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars, as for the synths when they are utilized they bring an ambient and atmsopheric sound to the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast atmospheric black metal riffs they utilize some ambient, thrash, black'n'roll and doom metal elements in the riffing at times as well as some melody along with a brief use of clean playing and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are all grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics cover dark themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion False are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Key Of Passive Suffering". RECOMMENDED BUY.
