Ancst are a band from Germany that plays a raw and primitive form of noise/black metal and this is a review of their 2012 demo which was released by Skull Witch Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the synths which are only used on t he intro bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the recording, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding with some noise, crust influences and melody being thrown into the riffing and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly blackened crust growls with some spoken word samples, while the lyrics cover social injustice and anti fascist themes, as for the production it has a very raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Ancst are a very great sounding crust/noise influenced raw and primitive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Another Dead End's Anthem". RECOMMENDED BUY.
