Passion Interview

1.Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?
We are a band from Seattle, formed partly out of disgust for what passes for black metal in this area.

2. How would you describe your musical sound?

Raw and aggressive with haunting passages and melodies.
3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
The lyrics touch on necromancy, devil worship, possession, visions, the end times, human sacrifice and ritual suicide.

4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
There are a few reasons we chose the name. One is in reference to the suffering of a martyr, which is beautiful. Another reason is that it is rather misleading, it doesn't sound like a name for a metal band.

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
We haven't played live yet, but I imagine it will be amazing. Performing these songs live has always been our intention, we just need to find the right occasion for our debut.

6. Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
Not scheduled, but we are prepared and looking for gigs.

7. The new album came out on Infernal Perversions Inc, can you tell us a little bit more about this label?
It's a new label, our EP was the first release. It's a label dedicated to the distribution of quality black metal and occult influenced music to the pacific northwest. There are several more releases in the works currently.

8. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?
We haven't gotten much feedback but what we have heard has been good.

9. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
It will be in the same vein, but more layered and complex. More ambitious. Transcendence was the prelude to something bigger.

10.What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
I would have to say our core influences are probably Carpathian Forest, Mayhem and Shining (swe). Lately I've been listening to Ondskapt and the new album from The Devil's Blood, as well as a composer named Arvo Pärt.

11.How would you describe your views on occultism?
Occultism and witchcraft have been an obsession of mine from an early age, it is a huge part of my life.

12.Outside of music what are some of your interests?
Philosophy, biology, fine art, good alcohol and hallucinogens.

13.Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
Thanks for your interest in the band.
