Aypheros are a band from Chile that plays and occult form of black metal mixed in with some death metal elements and this is a review of their 2014 album "Ascendant Novissma Tua" which will be released by PRC Music.
"Shamhamphorash" which is also the first song on the album opens up with dark sound effects along with some demonic chanting before adding in fast and heavy guitar riffs as well as some blast beats from the drums as well as alternating between mid paced and fast parts while also mixing melody into the guitar riffing and a few seconds alter a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams kick in and a couple of minutes alter guitar solos and leads come in for a few seconds and you can hear bass guitars in the background.
"Occult Manifesto" begins with heavy guitar riffs and drums and a few seconds alter it goes into a more faster and melodic direction a long with some blackened metal vocals as well as some blast beats and towards the end you can also hear more death metal elements being thrown into the music.
"Ascension To Kether" opens up with powerful sounding bass guitars before adding in fast and heavy guitar riffs as w ell as some drums before adding in black metal screams and after awhile the music goes into a more mid paced direction as well as adding in some melody into the guitar riffing and towards the end you can hear a small amount of guitar leads.
"When The Dark Sea Stirs" starts up with drum beats before adding in heavy and fast guitar riffs as well as blast beats and blackened death metal vocals and a minute alter guitar solos are added in as well as the music alternating between mid paced and fast parts.
"Odium Prophetae' kicks in with clean guitars and bass being adding in fast and heavy guitar riffs along with some drums before adding in black metal screams as well as alternating between slow and fast parts which also leads up to blast beats and growls and the song closes with acoustic guitars.
"Taba'et (Misterium Mysteriorum)' comes in with heavy guitar riffs and a few seconds alter drums are added in and a minute later black metal screams kick in along with some death metal growls and you can also hear melody in certain sections of the song and there are acoustic guitars added in towards the end which utilize finger picking.
"Pert Em Hru" breaks in with black metal vocals before adding in heavy guitar riffs and drums which also leads to the music going into a faster direction as well as alternating between mid paced and fast parts as well as adding in a small amount of blast beats and you can also hear melody being added into the guitar riffing.
"To The Void And Transgression" which is also the last song on the album begins with heavy guitar riffs and drums before going into a faster direction and you can also hear some bass guitars before adding in black metal screams as well as some melody and death metal growls
Song lyrics cover Occultism and Left hand Path themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Aypheros are a very great sounding mixture of occult black metal and death metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band.
