Wolfkhan are a solo project from Poland that plays a pagan form of black metal with some touches of folk, ambient and industrial and this is a review of his 2017 album "Cyber Necro Spirituals" which will be released on April 25th by Arachnophobia Records.
Distorted sounding drones start off the album along with some nature sounds and elements of dark ambient and after awhile heavy guitars along with touches of industrial are added onto the recording along with some deep yet grim black metal screams and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful.
When female vocals are utilized they give the songs more of a ritualistic yet ethnic feeling and when tribal beats are utilized they give the music a more shamanistic and pagan atmosphere and spoken chants are also utilized at times and all of the songs are very diverse and also sound very different from each other and some of the tracks a re very long and epic in length and also mix in a decent amount of avant garde elements.
Wolfkhan plays a musical style that mixes pagan black metal with folk, ambient, industrial and ritual music to create something very original. the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover absurd, black humorous and post apocalyptic themes.
In my opinion Wolfkhan are a very great sounding mixture of pagan black metal, ambient, industrial, folk and ritualistic music and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solos project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kurwa" "Pozeracz Serc" "Wmawianie" and "Niewidzialni". 8 out of 10.
