Cult Of Erinyes are a band from Belgium that has bene featured before in this zine and plays a ritualistic form of black metal and this is a review of t heir 2017 album "Tiberivs" which will be released in June on cassette by Caverna Abismal Records.
A very dark and ritualistic sounding intro starts off the album along with some acoustic guitars a few seconds later which also leads up to a more heavier direction where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the vocals are mostly grim black metal screams.
Spoken word parts can be heard briefly and when t he music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs a more raw black metal feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the vocals also get deep at times.
Some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion while atmospheric sounding synths are also used in some parts of the album and acoustic guitars are added on some of the later tracks which also add in some progressive structures.
Cult Of Erinyes creates another recording that remains true to the ritualistic black metal style of previous recording while also showing a great amount of progress as musicians, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the Ancient Roman Empire.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Cult Of Erinyes and if you are a fan of ritualistic black metal, you should check out this cassette. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nero" "Fist Of Man" and "For Generations To Come". 8 out of 10.
