1. Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the musical project since the recording and release of the new ep?
Temira - We are currently focusing on promoting the physical release of our mini-album, remastering old songs as well as working on new material all the time, so that's what we've been doing all the time since the beginning of the band's existence. Releasing the new EP was not a turning point for us, it is some point reached, of course, but it did not change our, already very high, enthusiasm for further work. And the mere release of a physical copy was only a matter of time for us.
2. Recently you have released a new ep, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
Temira - The material became more mature, we started to draw even more inspiration without losing our own ideology and idea, and even making this "our" sound. The order of the songs on the EP is also the order of creation, so the listener can follow the path of development with us.
3. A lot of your lyrics cover Satanism and Church Burnings, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in Satanism and your hatred for Christianity?
Temira - Once euronymous said in an interview "if it's not about satanism then it's not black metal", of course it's not an absolute truth, but the BM ideology aspect is very important to us, back to the root. Satanism is freedom. Living in the Christian State we are bombarded with prejudices, parochialism and false laughs. No freedom of choice for women who might consider abortion, abortion has been banned, doctors who are afraid of prenatal tests because in the event of inadvertent termination of pregnancies will go to jail for murder, court cases for "offending religious feelings." I could do that for a long time, and I have only described recent events. I think that everyone would get pissed off with Christianity. The world needs a re-situation to what happened in Norway in the 90s, the message was sent then but has been forgotten today.
Sitre - It's mostly intellectual rebellion.
4. The bands name spells 'crucifix' backwards but with a K, do you feel this name fits in with the blasphemous approach of your musical style?
Temira - I always say when I take a cross in my hand I turn it upside down. The same idea is in the band name. So it fits just right.
Sitre - In polish this word starts with "K".
5. Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the ep cover?
Temira - I made the photo myself, it is a castle in Łapalice, construction began in 1983 and was not completed. It is for us an allegory to our work, something created today, with today's possibilities without losing the past.
6. Currently there are only 2 members in the band, are you open to expanding your line up or do you prefer to remain a duo?
Temira - Musically we complement each other perfectly, we do not feel the need to expand the line-up. We would like to undertake various types of cooperation, but more in a one-off context.
7. 'Void Wanderer Productions' is also putting out the physical version of your ep, how did you get in contact with this label?
Temira - I came to them completely by accident, they liked our work and actually, within a few days, we got most of the issues. I really appreciate the cooperation with this label, maybe they are not the biggest ones, but almost face to face contact is much more important to us. Creative freedom and constant support are the features of this label.
8. On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?
Temira - The vast majority reaction for our music are received very well, good reviews, willing radios and now a label, and our project is only over a year old.
Sitre - I am still surprised how well it was received. Especially in regard with our diy approach.
9. Do any of the band members have any experience playing in other bands or musical project?
Temira - Yes, but we would prefer not to continue this topic. The story of XificurK begins on the day of its foundation not earlier.
Sitre - No. It was given to us by evil possession.
10. When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
Temira - We are currently working on a split with Svartalv Halvorsen, which we have already officially announced on our social media. As for LP ... keep an eye on our social media.
11. What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Temira - I don't listen to too much new bands, although I'm familiar with it, it's not like I don't know the current BM scene. The band that has never let me down, be it with old or new albums, is Taake. I don't listen to genres other than BM, I miss philosophy in them.
Sitre - Black metal-wise scene has many really interesting projects I enjoy: from Watain, Uada or Blut Aus Nord among others. I am looking for different things to be inspired by. Metal is freedom so I do notlimit myself.
12. Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Temira - I have nothing to add.
