Azaghal/Omega/Moribund Records/2008 CD Review

Azaghal are a band from Finland that has been interviewed and had their music reviewed by this zine, that plays a style that I would describe as being black terror metal and this is a review of their 2008 album "Omega" which was released by Moribund Records.

Drums are mostly mid paced to fast and technical with a lot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone which follows the riffing that is coming out of the guitars, as for the synths when they are utilized they bring a lot of darkness to the music.

Rhythm guitars are mostly mid paced to fast black riffs that also have some death and thrash metal influences and a good amount of melody, while the lead guitars are very primal and melodic black metal guitar leads.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams with some clean signing being used at times, while the lyrics are written in Finnish and cover darkness, occultism and ancient mythologies, as for the production it has a very heavy and professional sound that makes the music sound even more brutal.

In my opinion this was another good album from Azaghal and if you are a fan of this band you probably already have this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Quetzalcoatl" "Vihana Raivoavina Valtameria" "Kuolemankulti" and "Kaikkinakevan Silman Alla". RECOMMENDED BUY.
