Greece's Adventum Diaboli have returned with a new recording that focuses less on the occult side of previous material and goes for more of a depressive side of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "I Walk In Solitude".
Nature orientated soundscapes start off the album along with some atmospheric synths and after awhile clean guitars are added onto the recording which also leads up to a heavier direction along with some depressive cries being utilized in the background and a great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
Vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams and they also bring in a few instrumental tracks while also adding in elements of ambient at times and some tracks also bring in a decent amount of acoustic guitars and as the album progresses the riffs start utilizing more melody while a later song adds in a small amount of spoken word parts and when guitar leads are used briefly they are done in a very melodic fashion and all of the songs stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction.
Adventum Diaboli change their sound around a bit on this recording and goes for more of a straight forward depressive black metal style this time around, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover depressive themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Adventum Diaboli and if you are a fan of depressive black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I Walk Into Solitude" "Endless Anxiety Trip" and "The Lethal Dose(Goodbye)". 8 out of 10.
