The Noctambulant Interview

1. For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?
We are from Jacksonville, Florida originally with our guitarist Hoarfrost now living in Seattle,  Washington.

2.How would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recordings?
Melodic black metal with a healthy dose of death / goth / punk influence

3.A  lot  of  your lyrics  deal with Occultism and Death, can you tell us a little it more about your interest in those topics?
It's a personal interest of mine for many years now. Exploring belief,  the nature of man, how one energy feeds and consumes another.  All life is death.

4.I known that the bands name means 'Nightwalker', how does this name fit in with the musical style you play?
We try to capture the feel of the darker side of nature.  Not unlike Wolves in the throne room , we try to draw from our surroundings and build a visceral, atmospheric feel.

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
The best shows have been in,  for the most part, smaller markets where the crowds are just as excited as we are.
And our stage performance is an ever changing and evolving thing. We progress with our stage show as our music progresses .

6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
We are currently planning a fall tour and a European tour for early 2018.

7.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?
Quite supportive.  We've shipped albums literally all over the world ,  the feed back has been positive.  Of course you have your elitists who say we aren't grim or kvlt enough , but fuck 'em.

8.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future.
We have been progressing more into what we truly feel, musically . I don't want to put out the same album over and over again, and I feel that out music grows as we do.

9.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Some of the major influences of the band members are the standards you'd expect - Bathory, Celtic Frost, Dissection, Emperor, Dark Funeral.
To bands you may not - The Cure, Voivod, Ratt, sisters of mercy ,  wasp, etc
As for what's on my listening rotation,
Behemoth , Uada, Shining (swe), Mgla, the newest Gary Numan album and Concrete Blonde.

10.What are some f your non musical interests?
We each have various hobbies .
D like graphic design and is starting a new recording studio , Teaberry House Records , Lars does carpentry , Hoarfrost has developed a love of photography.
