Torvara are a band from Italy that plays an old school form of black metal with some elements of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Killing Culture" which was released by Satanic Records.
War samples start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction that also introduces grim black metal screams onto the recording along with the riffs also utilizing a decent amount of dark sounding melodies and you can also h ear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording.
When guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very dark and melodic fashion while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the fast riffs also use a great amount of tremolo picking which also gives the songs more of a 90's second wave feeling and the music also mixes in a great amount of death and thrash metal elements and war samples are also used on some of the later tracks and a couple of the songs are very long and epic in length.
Torvara plays a style of black metal that is very raw and old school in the second wave tradition while also mixing in elements of death and thrash metal to create a very heavy recording, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover violence, war and anti Christianity themes.
In my opinion Torvara are a very great sounding raw mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blood Forest" "Killing Culture" and "Submit And Obey". 8 out of 10.
