Eternal Funeral are a ban from the United Kingdom that plays a very raw form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2023 ep "The Exorcist".
Whispered vocals start off the ep while spoken word samples can also b e heard briefly before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and a small amount of synths are added on t he first track.
The ep also adds in a lot old school influences while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them. Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the guitar riffing also adding in a small amount of dark sounding melodies. and the guitar leads are also done in a melodic style, the ep closes with an instrumental.
Eternal Funeral plays a style of black metal that is very raw in the 90's tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Witchcraft and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Eternal Funeral are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of t his musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Witches Sabbath". 8 out of 10.
