Verhinderer/Groschenroman/Kvlt Und Kaos Productions/2023 Demo Review

 

  Verhinderer  are  a  solo  project  from  Germany  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2023  demo  'Groschenroman"  which  was  released  by  Kvlt  Und  Kaos  Productions.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  while t he  songs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  old  school  influences.

  Tortured  sounds  and  spoken  word  parts  can  also be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  One  song  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing  and  most  of  the  riffing  is  done  on  power  chords  along  with  the  tracks  also  avoiding t he  use  of  any  solos  or  leads.  

  Verhinderer  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  aggressive  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  if  a  concept  album  a  court  jester  and  his  struggle  and  liberation  from  the  oppressive  rule  of  his  king  and  queen.

  In  my  opinion  Verhinderer  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Der  Narr".  8  out  of  10.
