Vltor/Non Auro Sed Ferro/Dusktone/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Vltor  are  a  band  from  Italy  that  plays  a  pagan  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  album  "Non  Auro  Sed  Ferro"  which  will  be  released  in  September  by  Dusktone.

  Synths  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  folk  instruments  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  album  also  add  in a   great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.

  Clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  album  while  clear  pagan  vocals  are  also  utilized  at  times.  The  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  melody,  when  percussion  is  utilized  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  a  ritualistic  and  tribal  atmosphere.

  Vltor  plays  a  style  of  pagan  black  metal  that  is  very  aggressive,  epic  and  melodic  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Italian  and  cover  Archaic  Roman  Paganism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Vltor  are  a  very  great  sounding  pagan  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Taurobolio"  "Fons  Perennis"  "Haec  Est  Italia"  and  "Non  Auro  Sed  Ferro".  8  out  of  10.
