Lugubrious Garment/Demo MMXXV/Nuclear Winter Records/2025 Review

 

  Lugubrious  Garment  are  solo  project  from  Italy t hat  plays  a  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2025  demo  which  will  be  released  on  Halloween  by  Nuclear  Winter  Records.

  A  very  dark,  heavy  and  brutal  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  blast  beats  and  war  metal  elements.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  cavernous  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  also  adding  in  dark  sounding  melodies.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  solos  and  leads  bring  in  more  of  an  old  school  style.  Spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  also  adding  in  elements  of  speed  metal  at  times  and  the  whole  demo  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.

  Lugubrious  Grament  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  gore  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Lugubrious  Garment  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Emanations  Of  Impure  Dieties".  8  out  of  10.
