Burial Hordes are a band from Greece that plays a satanic form of black metal with elements of death metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Incendium" which was released by Hellthrasher Productions.
The album starts out with some heavy black metal guitar riffs and drums before going into a faster direction as well as mixing in blast beats and dark sounding melodies and then the music starts adding in death metal growls along with some black metal screams which leads to a slower direction and they way they combine black and death brings a very brutal sound to the recording.
As the album continues the band continues there brutal assault as well as mixing slow and fast parts together with a great amount of skill and conviction as well as making their melodies sound very evil and blasphemous and by the time the album gets to the fourth song they add in a small amount of ritualistic sound effects as well as adding in some new elements to their melodic side, and on the 5th song there is a brief use of spoken word parts which also return on other songs and on the following song they mix in clean guitars with the heavier elements of the music and the bass guitars also get more powerful, and the band also brings in some Gregorian chants which also add more darkness to the recording while also remaining heavy and brutal all at the same time.
Burial Hordes shows a lot of talent and skill throughout the album with the way they mix blasphemous black metal with death metal and the band also shows that it is not afraid to experiment and this album so far looks like it will be one of the huge highlights for 2014.
Song lyrics cover Satanism, Darkness and Occultism, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and dark sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Burial Hordes are a very great sounding mixture of satanic black metal and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band and album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Unleash Havoc" "Path Of bloodshed" and "Incendium". 8/5 out of 10.
