Mors Spei are a 1 man band from Italy that plays a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of his 2013 demo "De Humanitas Caede" which was released by Lupus Niger.
The demo starts out with a very dark and evil sounding intro that utilizes some atmospheric synths as well as some spoken word ritualistic parts then the music goes into a fast and raw old school black metal direction along with some grim screams and the music has a 90's feeling to it along with some blast beats and after a few minutes the music goes into a mid paced direction along with some deeper vocals as well as making a returning to the faster guitar riffs.
The old school black metal assault continues once the demo goes into the third song as well as bringing in more fast parts and blast beats while also adding a great amount of darkness to the slower parts as well as bringing in a good amount of French black metal influences and this project plays black metal the raw and old school way without having any modern influences and does a very great job at executing some primal black metal and on the last song you can hear some melody being added to certain sections of the music as well as mostly sticking to a mid paced direction while the previous 2 where in a more fast direction.
Song lyrics cover dark themes, while the production has a very dark and raw sound that goes back to the early 90's black metal sound.
In my opinion Mors Spei are a very great sounding old school black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "De Humanitas Caede" and "Through the Eyes Of The Dead". RECOMMENDED BUY.
